SpaceX Starlink Internet Service Is Now Available Across All Of Hungary

SpaceX operates approximately 2,250 Starlink satellites in Low Earth Orbit that transmit broadband internet service to over 250,000 users across 33 countries. The company aims to provide high-speed internet globally, however, it depends on government regulatory agencies to approve the business operations in each country. Most recently, Starlink became available in Hungary. SpaceX emailed potential customers who signed up via the website to receive updates about when service would be available in their region. "Starlink is now immediately available across all of Hungary!," the email says, "Users can expect to see low latency and download speeds up to 250Mb/s [megabits per second]. To order Starlink, visit Starlink.com and enter your service address," the company wrote.

SpaceX is working to deploy a total of 12,000 Starlink satellites to orbit to blanket the entire planet with high-speed internet access. The satellites are planned to launch within the next six years. SpaceX currently launches around 53 Starlink satellites on a weekly basis atop previously-flown Falcon 9 rockets. Once Starship becomes operational, SpaceX will be able to complete the deployment of thousands of satellites rapidly because the next-generation spacecraft will be capable of launching 400 Starlink satellites during a single mission.

"Starlink is ideally suited for areas where connectivity has been unreliable or completely unavailable. People across the globe are using Starlink to gain access to education, health services and even communications support during natural disasters," said the company. The Starlink network has proven to be reliable when disaster strikes. Teams quickly delivered Starlink user terminals to the Kingdom of Tonga after a volcanic eruption destroyed the only fiber-optic cable that connected the islands to the world wide web. Starlink is easy to install without a professional technician in simple steps guided by a mobile app - plug in to an electricity outlet, point at a clear view of the sky, connect the Wi-Fi router to wireless access the network. The simplicity enables first responders to quickly set-up the Starlink antenna wherever they go. The service has also demonstrated to be useful amid the Russia-Ukraine war. SpaceX delivered thousands of Starlink user terminals to Ukrainian authorities to assist with keeping civilians safe by using a reliable communications system to coordinate their operations. Starlink has also been deployed to Ukrainian hospitals and shelters for civilian use.
