Today, July 2, Tesla (TSLA) announced that it produced 82,272 cars and delivered 90,650 units in the 2Q 2020.

The company said it had successfully returned production to its previous levels, despite being suspended for more than a month in this quarter due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Analysts had expected lower numbers, but Tesla once again proved that it was able of what others consider incredible.

A few days ago, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk sent a letter to the employees, in which he hinted that the company could reach the quarter with "victory", but all employees should make every effort to do this.

"Breaking even is looking super tight. Really makes a difference for every car you build and deliver. Please go all out to ensure victory!"

CNBC reported that on Wednesday morning, Musk sent an email to the Tesla employees, in which he thanked everyone for the job well done.

"Just amazing how well you executed, especially in such difficult times. I am so proud to work with you!"

In its Q1 earnings update this year, Tesla stepped back from previous directions, saying it had “installed capacity” to reach 500,000 car deliveries in 2020, but it remains unclear how fast its US car plant and suppliers will be able to increase production after Covid-19. restrictions. At that time, Tesla also stated that its forecast for profit in the near future was “suspended”. However, Tesla was able to supply 90,650 vehicles, which is an incredibly good result.

In the first quarter, Tesla produced 103,000 vehicles, representing about 4% of nearly 2.4 million Toyota vehicles, which based their brand on affordability and reliability, building on innovation in large-scale manufacturing. At the moment, Tesla is the most valuable carmaker in the world.
