The Cybertruck design is completely finished and will not change anymore, so Tesla is ready to order the equipment for its production.

Tesla Cybertruck is the brightest electric car of all existing today. This is not just a car with a stunning appearance, but also is like a tank that is designed to solve many of the requirements set by its owners. However, starting production will require a lot more effort on the part of the manufacturer than it would be for a typical car.

Cybertruck's design turned out to be incredibly inviting, but Tesla made some changes to its original appearance, which was unveiled at the presentation. However, for now, the company has finished all the development of the pickup, and is no longer iterating at the design level, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said during the Q4 2020 Earnings Call.

Due to the fact that the company will no longer make changes to Cybertruck, and has already approved its final design, Tesla can start ordering equipment for its production. According to the latest information, the electric pickup will be produced with a new structural battery pack that will use single-piece casting parts. During the Earnings Call, Musk said that the company intends to use the same Giga Press as for the Model Y to produce the single-piece rear casts. The difference is that a clamping force for the rear part of the Model Y is 6,000 tons, and a clamping force for the rear part of Cybertruck will be 8,000 tons.

Mass production of Cybertruck will be challenging. First, the pickup will be produced in a completely new way, which will require the creation of new methods and machines. Secondly, Tesla will first need to set mass production of 4680 battery cells that will power the electric pickup truck, which will probably only happen by the end of 2021. In this regard, Musk said that if the company is lucky, the first few deliveries of Cybertruck will begin in 2021, but mass production is not expected until 2022.
