Tesla China Announced New Model 3 SR+ Pricing for New NEV Subsidy Regulations

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had mentioned yesterday in the Q1 2020 earning calls about Tesla will lower the price of the Model 3 Standard Range Plus in China, which made in the Gigafactory Shanghai.

On May 1st 2020 (Beijing time), Tesla China has officially adjusted the China Made Model 3 Standard Range Plus' price to ¥291,800 or equal to 41,317.98 USD and the price after subsidy is ¥271,550 or equal to 38,450.65 USD.

The Chinese government updated its new-energy vehicle subsidy regulations last week, effectively excluding Giga Shanghai's MIC Model 3 SR+ and Long Range variants. The locally-made Model 3 barely missed qualifying for the new NEV subsidy regulations. Now with the newly updated pricing, the MIC Model 3 SR+ is qualify for the new China NEV subsidy regulations.

Previous pricing before adjustment was ¥303,550 or equal to 42,981.75 (before subsidy)
