Tesla Notifies Made-in-China Model 3 Reservation Holders to be Ready for Deliveries

Tesla-Model-3-China-Deliveries

Tesla recently notified made-in-China Model 3 reservation holders that preorders would be delivered soon. Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai has been working nonstop to accomplish Elon Musk and Tesla’s goal since they broke ground on the lot in January. Some still don’t believe the Shanghai factory is up and running, but that isn’t stopping Tesla China from foraging forward.

According to Tesla owner-enthusiast @Ray4Tesla, multiple Model 3 reservation holders in China received an email from Tesla informing them to prepare for deliveries soon. Meanwhile, those who ordered US-made Model 3 units on Oct. 14 were advised to switch to the made-in-China Tesla sedan—probably so they can receive their delivery sooner.

News of Model 3 units from Gigafactory 3 may come as a surprise to people, especially shorts who have been adamantly denying the existence of a Tesla factory in China since Elon Musk broke ground on the “mud field” in January. However, Tesla enthusiasts—especially those actually in China—have been revealing the truth about GF3 throughout its journey.

The fact of the matter is, Tesla’s Shanghai factory is ahead of schedule, and it can’t be denied. On November 13, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China officially announced that Tesla received its mass production license already.

Gigafactory 3 seemed ready for the announcement since on the same day of the announcement, 50 made-in-China Model 3 units were spotted in a parking lot inside the site by Chao Zhou. Following the sighting, The Global Times reported that GF3 would be producing about 17,400 units about 2,900 units a week leading up to 2020.

So, it's plausible that the Made-in-China Model 3 deliveries will happen soon. At least, either before the end of the year or early 2020. Either way, it seems like Ron Baron was correct when he said Gigafactory 3 would help Elon Musk deliver on time.
