Tesla’s Cybertruck Gigafactory hunt has lead to some exciting forms of wooing from respective candidates. Despite the best efforts of all Tesla’s suitors, Texas and Tulsa seem to be the last two standing—based on media reports. Recently, Tulsa made another move for Tesla’s Cybertruck Gigafactory. It enticed the EV automaker with free ice cream. 

An avid supporter of Giga Tulsa, @BigFuckingField, shared pictures of the city’s latest efforts to woo Tesla. An ice cream truck showed up at a fair offering free ice cream. “What’s cooler than free ice cream? Cybertrucks built in Tulsa,” said the one ice cream truck, striking quite a persuasive argument, according to some people who saw the post. @BigFuckingField offered Tesla free ice cream if it built its Cybertruck Gigafactory in Tulsa, too.

The last time Tulsa showed its love for Elon Musk, and the EV automaker was when it painted the famous Golden Driller statue with the Tesla symbol for everyone to see. The move was quite a bold one as The Golden Driller’s origin is linked to the petroleum industry. According to a previous Tesmanian article, the statue itself represents an oil worker.

Despite Tulsa’s admirable efforts, Tesla seems to be making moves in Texas. Recent news indicated that Tesla was negotiating incentives with Travis County, Texas. Since the EV automaker is already at the negotiations phase with Texas, it may have already chosen the location of its Cybertruck factory. However, there may still be hope for Tulsa since neither Elon Musk nor Tesla has officially announced the location of its next Gigafactory in the U.S.

Plus, a leaked email from Musk revealed that Tesla plans to push volume production of the Semi soon. As previously suggested by Tesmanian, Tesla may be planning to announce multiple Gigafactory locations in the next few months.

With the number of cars it plans to produce in the future, Tesla may need more than one additional factory in the United States. Tesla still has to start mass production on the Plaid series—which includes the Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck—and the Roadster 2.0. So Tulsa may still have a fighting chance.
