Tesla Giga Shanghai is ready to deliver the MIC Model 3 Long Range RWD ahead of schedule. Deliveries for the Long Range RWD were initially scheduled to start in June, but Tesla China has confirmed that the newly-produced units are ready to ship now.
According to local Chinese media, Tesla China has confirmed that multiple MIC Model 3 Long Range RWD vehicles have been produced and will be delivered to customers in the near future. An inside source told Tesmanian that deliveries will start within the next 24 hours of this article's publication. As such, MIC Model 3 Long Range RWD reservation holders may expect their deliveries by Friday, May 15 local time.

A recent video from Wuwa Vision may have shown Giga Shanghai's MIC Model 3 Long Range ramp. During a flyover, the drone operator spotted numerous Model 3 vehicles parked on factory grounds, all of which were being placed in car carriers and shipped to delivery centers in China. According to a previous Tesmanian article, Giga Shanghai's recent ramp may be an indication that Tesla China has already reached its 4,000 a week production rate goal, a target that was shared by the company in its Q1 2020 Update Letter.
The locally-made MIC Model 3 costs RMB¥366,550 without incentives and RMB¥344,050 with China's NEV subsidy. Sales of the Longe Range variant may be strong for the next month or so because it will no longer qualify for incentives after July when China's new NEV subsidy regulations start. Even without the incentives, however, demand for the Long Range variant is healthy.
Giga Shanghai's MIC Model 3 Long Range sales will significantly contribute to Tesla's Q2 2020 numbers. With production ahead of schedule and deliveries imminent, Tesla's winning streak may continue despite the ongoing pandemic.
