Tesla Semi Is Spotted with a New Look Being Transported in Sacramento

The stunning--and now facelifted--Tesla Semi has been spotted in Sacramento. The white truck was probably transported towards Reno, Nevada, and had some obvious design changes. It had a number of design upgrades affecting the windows, headlights, taillights, handles, rear and front bumper, and cab step.

A few hours ago, Semi was spotted by The Kilowatts/Twitter, who shared photos. At first glance, a few design changes become noticeable, and upon closer inspection, you may notice a few more.

The most notable change is the redesign of the truck's cab. It became lengthened and received additional side shields with windows. It seemed that this is the sleeper version. But in other photos, we could see that these are only shields, and the cab itself is not as long as it seems at first glance.

The headlights now have a stunning smoked look that contrasts perfectly with the white paint and complements the Semi's impressive look. The taillights have also been redesigned. Despite the fact that the headlights were very beautiful in earlier versions of the truck, the company still improved them even more.

The front bumper of the electric truck has also undergone changes. Previously, it was ribbed, but now it only has a few graceful curves, which adds extra elegance to the Semi's appearance.

The cab step has also changed to better complement the other exterior changes. In addition, it has been observed that the handles have a completely different shape, which seems more practical for a truck. In the prior version of the Semi, the handles were the same as in the Model 3/Y. They are good for a regular car, and have a very minimalistic and sophisticated look, but may not be appropriate in a truck application.

Although we cannot say precisely where exactly the facelifted Semi was transported, given the direction, it can be assumed that it was going to Giga Nevada. At the end of December, there were rumors that 4 prototypes of the Semi would be built there, which would undergo a series of tests. Two of them will undergo road tests. Another will be tested in cold weather conditions in Alaska. The fourth will undergo durability tests. They will be manufactured using new battery cell technology, different from the 2170 and 4680. It is reported that new cells with a higher density--called 2170L--will be used for assembly. A few days after that, and in January, several positions were opened in Giga Nevada related to the production of the Semi. Perhaps this prototype will serve as a model for production, which, it seems, should begin there soon.
