Tesla will build its next Gigafactory to manufacture the highly anticipated and coveted Cyburtruck / Semi / Model Y in Austin, Texas.

In mid-May, a source familiar with the case reported that Tesla had acquired a plot near Austin, Texas. The source claimed that Tesla representatives have visited a particular industrial zone in Austin, TX, and locals say they see some infrastructure being already built there.

Today, during the Earnings Call, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that a new factory for manufacture Semi, Cybertruck, and Model Y will be built near Austin, Texas.

The site covers approximately 2,000 acres and is located just 5 minutes from the airport and approximately 15 minutes from downtown Austin, near the Colorado River. He said the factory would become an ecological paradise and open to the public.

“It will be stunning. It's right by the Colorado River. It will have a boardwalk… It will be an ecological paradise. It will be open to the public as well.”

He also invited residents of the state to join the Tesla team in Texas.

Tesla will not stop on this and will continue to grow in California. Musk said the company will build Tesla Model S and Model X for global deliveries, and Tesla Model 3 and Model Y for North America in the state. In addition, production facilities for the next generation Roadster will also be located in California.

Tulsa, who fought desperately in the race to host the next Tesla Gigafactory, will not be used for construction at this time. However, Musk said the company will definitely consider Tulsa in future expansion.

"I'd like to give a shoutout to Tulsa. I was super impressed ... We will for sure consider Tulsa for future expansion of Tesla down the road," he noted.
