The mud flaps seems like a very durable product. I gave it 4 stars because 1 of the mudflaps did not fit as tightly compared to the other 3. However I’m still impressed with the product. No drilling required so that was a big plus. You use existing factory locations to install the mud-flaps.
It’s a good production and very nice!
Be VERY careful removing the 10mm bolt for the rear mud flap installation. Tesla uses a captured nut spot-welded on, and they Loctite the bolt. It's very easy to snap the spot-weld, then you're in for an adventure. To remove the bolt, gently go back-and-forth many times before advancing the bolt. Shoot it with some penetrating oil as soon as there's a gap.
See here for details on what to do if you snap the nut off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17BVIGkhrIY&t=972s&ab_channel=TeslaBlaine
This isn't a defect with the mud flaps, it's Tesla cheaping out on installing the captured nut.
Easy to install. Be careful around curbs, they may catch a curb and self-destruct.
Very durable, very easy to install and looks great!
The mud flaps are definitely much better than the factory flaps as far as protecting the car during wet conditions while driving. However my only criticism of the product is that they can be easily removed if they hit something. I had one of the plastic clips break and dislodge one of the flaps when I accidentally ran over a tree root, but was able to re-fasten the flap without the clip. I know the fender of the car receives a plastic clip too, but maybe the design can be modified to accommodate a stronger fastener like a screw clip of some kind. Just a suggestion.
Loved the look on my Model Y Performance!
Nice fit, easy to install. Looks "factory".
