SpaceX Starlink Internet Is Now Available In Hawaii

SpaceX Starlink internet is now available in Hawaii, according to the coverage map at the company's website Starlink.com. SpaceX provides satellite internet access across nearly 50% of the United States. All of western U.S. has access with the eastern half of the country still on the waitlist for the broadband service, as seen in the map below.

SpaceX also provides Starlink maritime coverage which enables customers to use the internet service on-the-go aboard sea-going vessels and aircraft. Hawaiian Airlines will become the first major airline to provide free SpaceX Starlink Wi-Fi for passengers. It plans to equip its Airbus A330, A321neo, and fleet of Boeing 787-9s aircraft, with Starlink terminals to access the network during transpacific flights in 2023. Hawaiian Airlines currently does not provide any Wi-Fi service during flights because they have not found a reliable network that serves flights over the Pacific Ocean. “When we launch with Starlink we will have the best connectivity experience available in the air,” said Hawaiian Airlines President and CEO Peter Ingram. “We waited until technology caught up with our high standards for guest experience, but it will be worth the wait. Our guests can look forward to fast, seamless and free Wi-Fi to complement our award-winning onboard Hawaiian hospitality.”

SpaceX is launching satellites on a weekly basis to rapidly expand the network. Since 2019, the company has launched a total of 3,451 Starlink satellites to Low Earth Orbit that beam data to all seven continents. Starlink is currently available across ~44 countries and territories, including: the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Denmark, Chile, Portugal, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, Czech Republic, Sweden, Mexico, Croatia, Lithuania, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, France, Latvia, Tonga, Hungary, Ukraine, Georgia, Luxembourg, Saint Martin, St. Barthelemy, Greenland, Iceland, Estonia, Norway, Malta, Dominican Republic, Martinique and Guadeloupe which are located in the Caribbean French Islands. Most recently, SpaceX activated Starlink satellites over Iran amid anti-government protests that led to authorities shutting down the internet.
