Tesla accelerated its Supercharger rollout around the world in Q3 2022 by 32% year-over-year. Rolling out at this pace, the company has every chance to offer its customers 40,000 charging stalls before the end of this year.

In the third quarter of 2022, Tesla significantly accelerated the pace of expansion of its Supercharging network around the world. During this period, the company opened 312 new locations, which corresponds to an increase of 8% compared to the last quarter. Thus, as of the end of Q3, Tesla had 4,283 Supercharger stations worldwide, increasing their number by 32% compared to the same period last year.

The number of charging stalls has also grown. The growth corresponds to 33% compared to the same period last year. The company reported having 38,883 stalls and is well-positioned to celebrate the 40,000th stall milestone in 2022. In the three months of last quarter, Tesla opened 2,718 Supercharger stalls, an 8% increase from the last quarter. The average number of connectors provided at each Supercharger station was 8.7. Today, Tesla has its Superchargers in 46 countries around the world.

Tesla opened its first Supercharger stall in September 2012 and celebrated its 10,000th in June 2018. Through November 2020, the company has provided 20,000 stalls (+10,000) at its branded locations. However, the real breakthrough came in 2021 with 30,000 stalls (+10,000 in one year) open through November. 2022 could also be a record year with nearly 39,000 stalls (+9,000 in one year) already open as of September.
