Tesla FSD Beta has officially rolled out in Canada, as promised by Elon Musk during the Giga Berlin unveiling event earlier this week. First Tesla owners have already downloaded the update and will soon share the results of testing.

The wait for Tesla FSD Beta by Canadian Tesla owners has ended, as the long-awaited feature is now available to them. A few hours ago, the latest software update 2022.4.5.20 (FSD Beta 10.11.1) was rolled out in Canada. Now, Tesla owners with FSD who have requested the feature and scored 100 or 99 points receive FSD Beta.

While the waiting time of FSD Beta in Canada has been long, it is worth considering that the country is the first in the world outside the US to gain access to the feature. Its development in another country is fraught with many difficulties. Canada has some differences in road rules, signs, and road markings compared to the US, which requires very detailed study, information gathering, and training of AI. Since the safety of all road users has always been a priority for Tesla, the company could not release FSD Beta in Canada before it was sure of its reliability. Still, owners should remember that the function does not give complete autonomy to the vehicle and requires the constant attention of the driver and a readiness to take control at any time.

By rolling out FSD Beta in Canada, Tesla has also demonstrated that it has already achieved good results in development and is satisfied with the test results in the US, where there are currently more than 60,000 testers. On March 22, during the grand opening of Giga Berlin—and the handover of the first German-made Model Ys—Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the company plans to roll out FSD Beta in Canada by the end of this week, and now has delivered on his promise. He also said that the Autopilot team has already achieved good results and within the next 2-3 months the feature could be ready for submission to European Union regulators.
