Tesla has always been open with and positive about the public. Previously, the company offered tours to the Fremont factory and held mass events every year on a variety of topics. Now Tesla CEO Elon Musk has promised to hold a grand opening party at Giga Texas with factory tours for the community, which will take place in early 2022.
Construction of Phase 1 of Giga Texas is already nearing completion, and in line with Tesla's expectations, production there should begin by the end of this year. According to the general data, the manufacturer may already produce Model Y vehicles ready for delivery, as fully assembled test vehicles were seen there several months ago.
At the moment, the company has not announced the start date of production, however we received an update on the official opening ceremony. Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the grand opening party of Giga Texas will take place in early 2022, which implies that it will be held sometime in the first months of the year. He also said that during the celebration, the community will have the opportunity to tour the factory. Of the unmentioned entertainment, there will probably be test drives on Model Ys produced at Giga Texas.

Celebrating the opening of factories together with the public has already become a tradition for Tesla. The company held an event at Giga Shanghai, during which it handed over the first vehicles to its customers. At Giga Berlin, Tesla held a county fair, where it entertained guests with attractions and got to know them in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Among other things, the company held factory tours that revealed some previously unknown details about the manufacturing process.
The opening ceremony of Giga Texas promises to be a lot of fun as the locals greet Tesla in the region with a special love. The factory will create thousands of direct jobs and even more indirect jobs in Phase 1 of expansion. Musk said the company plans to invest more than $10 billion in the future, which will generate 20,000 direct and over 100,000 indirect jobs.
