Tesla is the top-selling car brand in Norway in Q1 2023. Although the final sales figures for all automakers will be released later, the picture is clear: Tesla has no equal competitors.

The Norwegian market continues to show its love for electric vehicles and Tesla is the #1 choice. The sales data for Q1 2023 is impressive and highlights Tesla's significant advantage over all other manufacturers. Sales data from all manufacturers, including petrol and diesel models, will be released in the coming days, however, even with existing sales data for electric models, a leader can be determined. This is possible due to the fact that sales of electric vehicles in Norway account for more than 80%.

EU-EVs, which publishes sales data for electric vehicles in Norway, has already reported the current information. As of 7:00 pm March 31, there were 9,442 Tesla vehicles sold in Norway in the three months of 2023. This makes it the best-selling brand in the country with an EV market share of over 37%, but adjusted for sales figures for petrol models, this figure will be slightly lower. Of these, Model Y accounted for 8,693 sales, Model 3 for 719, Model S for 23, and Model X for 7. Thus, by selling only four car models, Tesla manages to keep the lead in Norway.

Tesla's closest competitor is Volkswagen, which registered 5,523 EVs in Q1 2023. Cumulative sales gave it second place in the overall market and nearly 22% of the EV market share. In third place is Toyota with 2,223 sales. This corresponds to an 8.8% market share for electric vehicles.
