Tesla led the US luxury car market in January 2022. According to Experian, Tesla's sales outperformed BMW by more than 20% and made it the segment leader.

In January 2022, Tesla led US luxury car sales, according to registration data from Experian. Thanks to increased production volumes and the desire of consumers to own a Tesla car, the brand has overtaken BMW as the leader in the luxury segment. The Texas manufacturer's cars have always been highly popular, and the only deterrent to a significant increase in its share in the automotive market has been its production capabilities. However, with an ever-increasing production capability, Tesla's market share has continued to rise steadily and the manufacturer has now taken an important place in the US luxury car market.

According to Experian, Tesla's new US registrations are up 49% in January 2022 compared to the same month last year. Parallel to this, the annual growth of BMW, which was the leader in luxury cars in the US, was only 8.2%. Thus, Tesla registered more than 37,000 vehicles in the US in January, while BMW only registered about 30,600, more than 20% behind.

As Tesla's car production continues to gain momentum, and the US market will soon continue to be heavily saturated thanks to Giga Texas-made Model Ys, the manufacturer's car market share will also continue to grow rapidly. At the moment, the manufacturer's cars lead the global EV market, and its models in various segments, competing with cars with internal combustion engines, also occupy a leading position.
