The Tesla Shanghai Delivery Center has begun restoring its work after a shutdown that lasted over two months. Employees are busy preparing vehicles for deliveries, which should begin soon.

Starting at midnight on May 31, most of the restrictions due to COVID-19 in Shanghai have been lifted. Thus, all businesses could resume their work on June 1, and the city began to recover after more than two months of strict lockdown. Although Tesla's factory began operations on April 19 in a closed-loop system, the manufacturer's showrooms were still closed. However, along with other businesses, on June 1 the doors of the Tesla Shanghai Delivery Center were re-opened.

@JayinShanghai/Twitter visited the Tesla location to find out more. According to his photo report, there are a significant number of cars in the parking lots that have been waiting for their owners all this time. At the moment, the employees of the center are being kept busy: they are preparing all the cars for delivery, which should take place in the coming days. Jay noted that all employees of Tesla China diligently and selflessly perform their work, as they deeply respect the CEO of the company, Elon Musk.

The Shanghai authorities are striving to remove restrictions on business and support the resumption of work and production in all areas. The city is expected to be able to lift all restrictions by mid-June, at which time Giga Shanghai will also be able to get workers out of the closed-loop system. Somewhere around this timeframe, the factory should be back to full capacity and likely at a boosted level, to contribute as much as possible to Q2 2022 deliveries. Most of the cars produced in June will be sold in China, and many of them in Shanghai, so the restoration of the work of delivery centers is essential.
