AMC Entertainment to Accept Payments not only in Bitcoin, but also Ethereum, Litecoin, & Bitcoin Cash

AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc (AMC.N) CEO Adam Aron said that America's leading movie theater chain will accept not only Bitcoin, as announced recently, but also Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash for ticket purchases. The main reason for this move is that cryptocurrencies are gaining acceptance among major investors and companies.

"Cryptocurrency enthusiasts: you likely know @AMCTheatres has announced we will accept Bitcoin for online ticket and concession payments by year-end 202. I can confirm today that when we do so, we also expect that we similarly will accept Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash," Aron tweeted.

AMC Entertainment announced the integration of Bitcoin payments on August 9 with the deadline for accepting such payments until the end of the year. Aron added that customers can also use Google Pay and Apple Pay payment systems, although none of them are available so far. He also noted that many new retail investors are showing marked interest in cryptocurrencies.

AMC did not specify what technology it will use to process payments. The company has 593 cinemas in the U.S. and 335 locations worldwide. Once the integration of Bitcoin payments is successful, the company will begin accepting various cryptocurrencies not only in the U.S. but also in other locations around the world.
