Texas Brownsville Animal Regulation Care Center & Tesla Host A 'Frunk Puppy' Adoption Event

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla & founder of SpaceX, established a Tesla showroom and service center in Brownsville/Olmito, Texas. It is located approximately 40-minutes away from SpaceX’s Starbase facility situated at Boca Chica Beach, where Starship is under development.

On Saturday, August 7, the Tesla showroom team collaborated with the Brownsville Animal Regulation & Care Center (BARCC) to host a ‘frunk puppy’ adoption event at the Tesla car gallery. The City of Brownsville District 2 Commissioner Jessica Tetreau paid the adoption fees for all dogs. “Our adoption event at Tesla was a HUGE success! Not even two hours in and all dogs found their FURever homes, AMAZING! We had people waiting in line since 10 a.m. [...],” BARCC shared. “We had dogs that have been waiting to get adopted since March, we are so happy to see them get to go home. BARCC would like to give Jessica Tetreau and Car Wash Plus a HUGE shout out and thank you for always advocating for our animals, for their generous donations, and for always supporting BARCC. Thank you to Tesla for allowing us to use their facility to host our amazing event, and thank you to everyone that came down to give our furry friends a second chance,” BARCC representatives said.

“We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Musk for his generosity and compassion to our community. He is one of our largest employers, and the most generous philanthropist in our city. There are numerous other causes that SpaceX and Tesla has helped with (saving the sea turtles in the freeze) but the Tesla adoption event was extra special,” said Commissioner Tetreau in a statement to TESMANIAN. “The pets that were taken to the event were the dogs that had been at the shelter the longest but with the help of Mr. Musk and his staff, every single dog was adopted into a home in less than an hour. It’s incredibly moving to see firsthand how much Elon Musk has done for us as a community. We are so proud to have him here,” Tetreau said. Read more: SpaceX Provides Power Generator to Save Cold-stunned Sea Turtles in South Texas
