Elon Musk to join the G20 summit in Bali virtually. The head of Tesla and SpaceX received an invitation from Indonesian President Joko Widodo during their May meeting in Texas.

Elon Musk will join the G20 summit in Indonesian Bali virtually, not in person, an official from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce told CNBC Indonesia on Saturday, Reuters reported. Arsjad Rasyid said that Musk has important business in the US that requires his personal presence.

Musk is scheduled to speak at a business event dedicated to the summit of the Big 20 largest economies. It will be attended by world leaders, including US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Some other participants, including President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, will join the meeting virtually.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo met with Musk on May 14, 2022, in Texas. They discussed potential investments and technologies. At this meeting, Widodo invited Musk to the G20 summit. “Hopefully in November,” the Indonesian government quoted Musk as saying. According to a government statement, the head of Tesla and SpaceX said there could be room for “partnerships in many things, because Indonesia has a lot of potential.”
