The Boring Company may have acquired a piece of industrial land not far away from Giga Texas, in line with earlier statements from Tesla CEO Elon Musk. This shows that the company is seeking approval for a warehouse renovation project in Travis County.
Documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) on December 7, reveals that Boring Co. is seeking permission for a $130,000 warehouse renovation project. The 40,000-square-foot site is about 16 miles from Tesla's factory under construction, reported the Austin Business Journal.
It looks like Musk was not joking when he said that the Boring Co. was likely to drill a tunnel under Giga Texas. A system of tunnels under the factory can help reduce pressure on nearby roads, which is likely to increase due to the operation of the factory. The Boring Co. tunnel benefits cannot be overestimated.

In early November, The Boring Co. posted a list of new job positions in Austin. The company is looking for specialists in several areas: Electrical Engineer, Lead Electrical Technician, Mechanical Engineer, Power Electronics Engineer, Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Business Development Lead, and Lead Technical Recruiter.
The TDLR records link the Boring Co. to 40,000 square feet of space at the site in Pflugerville. No county property records have been filed for The Boring Co. at that location, which makes it appear that the company is leasing the space, writes the Austin Business Journal.
Some real estate experts have suggested that Boring Co. is possibly planning to build a tunnel from the Tesla site to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Others have speculated that the company may have something to do with the recently approved Capital Metro Project Connect transportation plan, which includes the addition of an underground tunnel in the city center.
