Hertz Tesla Model 3 customers have received an extension of their free charging offer for another month. Those who book the electric sedan will be able to charge it for free until March 1.

Hertz Global Holdings has extended free charging by one month for customers who book a Tesla Model 3. Customers who book the car now have the option to charge their Model 3 at one of the 250,000 approved Shell Recharge stations across Europe or at over 6,000 Tesla Supercharger points and pay no additional cost for recharging by March 1, according to the company's website.

In October, it was revealed that Hertz had placed an order for 100,000 Tesla Model 3 vehicles as a step towards its ambitious plan to electrify its rental car fleet. This was the largest purchase of EVs known to date and a great example for other companies in the fight to reduce CO2 emissions from combustion engine vehicles.

Hertz began receiving its order in November 2021 and is offering Model 3 for rent on its site. The company previously offered free charging until February 1 but has now extended the offer by another month. The vehicles are offered at both the company's retail fleet and Uber Technologies Inc.'s fleet, which Hertz says will include 50,000 Tesla Model 3s by 2023.
