The maiden ship to experience this high-speed transformation was the Koningsdam, swiftly followed by the Oosterdam, Volendam, Westerdam, Zaandam, and Zuiderdam. The remaining five ships within the Holland America Line fleet are scheduled to receive the Starlink upgrade by mid-December 2023, thereby ensuring that passengers across the entire fleet can revel in the benefits of cutting-edge satellite internet connectivity.
Starlink, renowned for its capability to provide high-speed internet access anywhere on the planet, has revolutionized the onboard connectivity experience. As a result, Holland America Line's vessels have ventured to diverse destinations, including Alaska, the Mediterranean, and Canada, all while receiving commendable feedback from both guests and crew members for the improved Wi-Fi services.
“Our goal is to continue keeping all guests connected to the internet to share their memorable experiences, and to allow our team members to stay in touch with their loved ones back home,” said Vice President of Technology for Holland America Line Kathleen Erickson. “It’s important we stay up to date with evolving technology to ensure the best experience for everyone stepping foot on our ships."
