Quarterback Tom Brady enjoys owning his Tesla Model S and says it's his favorite everyday car. He deliberately chose an electric car, as he generally began to lead a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

“This is one of those areas that I feel really strongly about,” Brady said in an interview on Bloomberg Television. "I love the cars." Brady said there is a rise in the number of people who want to do something to help the environment and have placed an emphasis on sustainability efforts. “I’ve had a Tesla for about four years. And again, I think it’s kind of the direction the world is heading,” he said.

The American football celebrity starred in a recent Hertz commercial. The car rental company announced last month that it had ordered 100,000 vehicles from Tesla, valued at $4.2 billion, and is likely to expand its order even more. Brady believes Hertz’s approach to business is the key to rebuilding the company, which went bankrupt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“They’re building and reinventing a great business,” Brady said in his role as Hertz’s top pitchman. "Their move to electric vehicles is super important."

“I’ve thought so much about the sustainability of my own body,” said Brady. “Businesses are doing the same thing. People want to understand areas in which they can be more sustainable, certainly to help the environment.”
