Tesla has announced the opening of its 100th Supercharger station in Beijing. The active opening of new locations comes as part of the manufacturer's rapidly expanding efforts to satisfy the growing number of new car owners in China.

Tesla announced the opening of its 100th Supercharger station in Beijing, China via its Weibo account. In their unique style, the manufacturer's local team held a gala event, inviting their customers to join them. During the celebration, there was a drawing for prizes, which was another nice bonus for participants.

As of the second quarter of 2022, Tesla has opened more than 1,200 Supercharger stations in mainland China, and their number continues to grow rapidly. All of them offer a total capacity of over 8,700 stalls. The Tesla charging network in mainland China covers 370 cities and regions to make Tesla vehicle ownership as convenient as possible. In addition to everyday use, Superchargers are designed to make traveling around the country easier. In addition, Tesla says it has over 700 destination charging stations on the Chinese mainland, offering more than 1,800 chargers.

The active growth in the number of Superchargers in large cities, like Beijing, plays a decisive role. Many of the company's customers live there and having a charging station near their home, work, or on their way to them is crucial to saving time for charging.

Although the production rate in the second quarter of 2022 was significantly reduced due to the COVID-19 lockdown, Giga Shanghai intends to significantly increase production in the future, for which it is launching an expansion of production capacity, due to complete in early August. This means that the Chinese market will be more saturated with Tesla vehicles, so the growth of the Supercharger network is a must.
