Tesla has announced a major development milestone in its battery branch. To date, the production of 4680 battery cells has reached 868,000 cells per week, equivalent to over 1,000 battery packs.
The production of Tesla 4680 battery cells is one of the most interesting topics related to the manufacturer, because the future growth of the company very much depends on it. On Sunday, Tesla announced that it had reached a production capacity of 868,000 cells per week, which is an amazing result. The company said that this cell volume would be enough to produce more than 1,000 vehicles.

During the Q3 2022 earnings report, Tesla executives shared progress on this front, and the news was very good. Production of the new 4680 cells, according to the report, is finally starting to gain real momentum and tripled in the third quarter compared to the prior one. Elon Musk said that the production of cars with battery packs using the new cells is growing rapidly and will become a significant part of Giga Texas car production in the coming months. The factory recently announced that it has reached a production capacity of 3,000 vehicles a week, which means that a third of them are now produced with 4680 battery cells.
During the Q3 2022 earnings report, Zachary Kirkhorn also said that the total production of 4680 batteries in Q4 will exceed 1,000 car battery packs per week. Achieving this milestone within the specified timeframe is also very good news, indicating that the company is well in control of the ramp-up progress.
