Tesla cuts the price of the CCS adapter in North America by 30%. The move comes amid recent news that the company is about to open part of its Supercharger network to all electric vehicles.

Tesla has cut the price of the CCS adapter in North America by 30% to make it more affordable for a wider range of owners of its EVs. Now its cost in the US is US $175, instead of US $250 before, and in Canada, the cost is CA $240, instead of CA $340 before. The CCS adapter allows Tesla car owners to use third-party charging stations to be able to charge their vehicles even in places where there are no branded charging stations.

The charging network is one of the most important keys to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. Reducing worries about charging encourages consumers to consider buying one. However, to date, in North America, only Tesla has a truly extensive charging infrastructure, but it is only open to owners of the company's vehicles.

However, this will soon change as Tesla opens up some of its Superchargers to all electric vehicles. This will happen as part of a deal between the company and the Biden administration to speed up the spread of EVs. It is expected that within two years, 7,500 Supercharger stations will be opened to all EV owners. Some opened stalls will be located at current charging stations, while others will still have to be built. As the load on the Supercharger network increases due to the influx of EVs from other manufacturers, Tesla wants to give its car owners more options for charging if they ever need it by offering a CCS adapter at a more affordable price.

The goal of Elon Musk and Tesla has always been to accelerate the world's transition to renewable energy, and electric vehicles are one of the main components of this. While the exclusive use of the Tesla Supercharger Network gave Tesla owners a unique advantage, its seclusion from others was contrary to the company's mission, so we all just need to work together to give our world a chance at a positive future.
