Tesla Giga Berlin aims to increase access to public transport for its employees. The number of factory employees is constantly growing, and the use of public transport to get to work will be convenient and reduce environmental pollution from the use of private cars for this.

Tesla would like to expand public transport access to its factory in Grünheide for its employees, according to the German publication rbb. In addition to the existing bus routes from the Fangschleuse, Erkner, and Königs Wusterhausen railway stations, two more routes will be added in the coming months. After that, employees of Giga Berlin will be able to travel by bus from Strausberg (Markisch-Oderland) and the Berlin Südkreuz to the factory in Grünheide. Tesla has already begun negotiations with the licensing authorities.

In addition to increasing the number of bus routes, from the first quarter of 2023, Tesla employees will be transported directly from Erkner to the factory by train. For this, a train stop was planned in the southern part of Giga Berlin.

At the moment, about 40% of Giga Berlin's approximately 7,000 employees use public transport to get to and from work. However, the goal is to further expand this share as the company strives to reduce pollution. More public transport that can take employees to the factory will allow many of them not to use a private car, which will lead to an overall reduction in harmful emissions into the air.
