Tesla plans to intensify the training of skilled workers for production at Giga Berlin. From 2022, about 150 students will be trained at the factory in 10 different specialties. The new program will start in autumn 2021.

According to the East Brandenburg Chamber of Commerce (IHK), from 2022 Tesla will train about 150 apprentices in about 10 industrial and technical specialties, including mechatronics technicians. The corresponding program will start this year, as Tesmanian previously reported.

At the moment, students are being recruited for training at the factory in the specialties of warehouse logistics and an IT specialist in the field of system integration. The proposals can already be found on the website of the regional cross-industry association of entrepreneurs and business enterprises, but IHK has yet to receive training contracts, spokeswoman Norma Gross said. Tesla also wants to offer dual training, the company said. Students of the dual course of study will study theory at the university and take practical training at the Tesla factory. The company indicated that it has a regional university partner, but did not indicate its name.

Applications for the start of training in 2021 could be submitted on the company's website until the end of June and at the moment they are no longer accepted. For the start of training in 2022, interested individuals will be able to apply to the end of the summer, as the company has announced. The main criterion for admission is having a qualifying degree from high school/college or a high school diploma.
