Tesla Giga Texas has begun assembling the 9,000-ton Giga Press, parts of which have been arriving at the factory in recent weeks. Assembling and customizing the giant machine can take several months, after which the production of the long-awaited Cybertruck will begin.

Hot news comes from Giga Texas, where a new stage of development is noticed. @JoeTegtmeyer/Twitter was lucky enough to catch on camera the expansion taking place inside the factory walls. On Friday, he noticed that the installation of the 9,000-ton Giga Press had begun. The frames from the video show that there are already the first results of the installation. The base of the machine is already in place on the floor, and some other parts are installed on it. Numerous other huge pieces are spread out on the floor all around. Some of them are ready for installation, others are partially unpacked, and others are in boxes. The intensification of efforts began after a large batch of Giga Press parts was delivered last week. The current progress indicates that the installation process has been going on for a couple of days now.

The beginning of the assembly of Giga Press is very important news. After it is assembled, calibrated, and going through test production, the production of the long-awaited Cybertruck can begin. Tesla plans to start production of the pickup truck in mid-2023. When the company assembled its first Giga Press for Model Y production at the Fremont factory, it took about two months to set up and calibrate. However, the 9,000-ton Giga Press is much larger and may therefore take longer to install. On the other hand, the experience of installing giant machines, gained from installing and setting up previous ones, can also help to install this Giga Press faster. In any case, there is every reason to believe that Tesla will have time to complete its installation before the middle of the year. The start of production and the first deliveries of Cybertruck in 2023 will be a very important catalyst for the growth of the manufacturer.
