Construction of Tesla Giga Texas continues to gain momentum, and the building is beginning to take shape. There is high activity on the territory, which is reflected in the speed of construction of visible structures. Cranes continue to arrive at the site, as construction is increasingly entering the phase of erecting buildings that will house the production of vehicles.
The "steel structure,” stretching from the center to the north, has grown significantly over the past few weeks. Its northern part has completely reached the edge, while the southern part seems to have already reached the middle of the Phase 1 construction site. During this time, several sections of steel were added on the west side of the construction, which expanded the structure. The installation of precast reinforced concrete columns began on the east side.
Construction of a new "steel structure" in the west is also ongoing. Recently, several new sections have been added to it, although it is being built at a relatively slow rate. There are many steel columns and beams on the ground, hinting that more active construction is planned in the near future.
Along the western edge, the foundation for the wall has already been partially filled. We can even see that something resembling walls is installed there, although at the moment they rise above the ground only at a small height.
Great progress has been made in the southeastern part of the site. It seems the huge foundation will be completed soon. It is already completely backfilled, but there is still a relatively small part on which steel rebar is laid, which means that concrete should be poured there. Reinforced concrete construction has grown in size even more, and now covers half of the large foundation. Reinforced concrete columns are gradually covered with roof deck, and form a powerful building.
It is also worth noting that Tesla has recently opened job listings for several positions for Giga Texas related to construction and manufacturing. The Senior BIM/VDC Engineer (Lead) and BIM/VDC Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and innovating the construction of Giga Texas, as well as other US sites. Process Engineering Manager, Production Supervisor, and Associate Production Manager will play important roles on the Gigafactory production team.
