According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, some of the best works of art in the world were created in China, so he believes that projects created in China will also be popular around the world. At the ceremony of delivery the first MIC Model 3s to its owners, which was held on January 7, 2020 in Shanghai, after the first electric cars from Gigafactory 3 were handed over to customers, Musk shared details about the Model Y and announced that he would expand the Tesla branch in China.
He also announced that Tesla plans to create its own design and engineering center in China, where company will create a car for the whole world. Musk said:
“Something that would be super cool ... so we’re going to do it ... is to try to create a China design and engineering center to actually design an original car in China for worldwide consumption. I think this will be very exciting."
On Wednesday, Tesla's official WeChat account posted an announcement on the WeChat social network calling for joining the new center and helping the company produce Chinese-style cars. Recruiting talent designers to develop Chinese style Tesla Model, integrate the most beautiful Chinese art into the future of Tesla.

Tesla Shanghai factory project is China's first auto manufacturing project, which is wholly owned by foreigners, as well as the first Tesla Gigafactory outside the United States.
