After the Passenger Play feature in Tesla cars received increased attention, the company decided to improve protection, but leave the possibility for passengers to play on the center screen while the car is moving. The new confirmation system eliminates the possibility that the driver will be able to pass the check for playing games.
Tesla has recently attracted increased attention again, since traditionally, everything related to the manufacturer, in the opinion of many people, should have a lot of publicity, while even loud news about other car manufacturers is often left without due attention. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in response to a complaint from one of the owners of a Tesla car, announced the opening of an investigation into gaming for passengers while the car is moving.
Previously, a front seat passenger could play games on the center screen while the vehicle was moving, after confirming that he/she was indeed a passenger. For this, a passenger had to put a mark in the required place. While no sane driver would play video games while driving, for the sake of the safety of those who are irresponsible drivers, this feature has undergone a change.
With the holiday update, Tesla made some changes to Passenger Play, according to hacker @greentheonly/Twitter. He said that now, in order for the front passenger to be able to play while the car is moving, a passenger will have to go through a more thorough check, which eliminates the possibility that the driver will be able to pretend to be a passenger. Now, the car will ask "Adjust the passenger seat controls to verify you are a passenger." This means that the check will be carried out using the passenger seat.
Look like no more pretending you are a passenger to play games while driving. The car will now ask you "Adjust the passenger seat controls to verify you are a passenger."

Suddenly that passenger lumbar control becomes super used I guess?
In addition to passenger seat controls, cars can also use additional checks. Tesla is already using seat-mounted sensors to sense the size and weight of the passenger, which is incredibly useful when deploying airbags. These sensors can also detect whether there is actually a person in the passenger seat, and only after this is confirmed, Passenger Play will be unlocked. Nevertheless, in more detail about this function and the intricacies of its use, information will become available only in the coming days, when the owners try it out.
