Car rental company Hertz Portugal is boosting its fleet of electric vehicles with Tesla models. The company said the decision is aimed at meeting the needs of its customers for more sustainable driving. Hertz starts to offer in Portugal the Tesla Model Y Long Range.
Tesla cars from Hertz Portugal can be rented from July 13. They are available at Hertz stations at Lisbon Airport and also at Rua Castilho in Lisbon. The offer was made possible by a Hertz-Tesla deal that would see 150,000 vehicles delivered.
“EVs offer high efficiency, unique user experience and climate benefits. Drivers can also benefit from low vehicle maintenance costs and significant reductions in fuel costs. For this reason, Hertz is reinforcing its commitment to being a leader in the mobility and travel of the future in Portugal,” the company said in a statement released on July 13.
According to Duarte Guedes, CEO of Hertz Portugal, car rental as a sharing platform should help accelerate the adoption of electric mobility, so the company decided to invest in strengthening its fleet with electric vehicles.
