German car-sharing company MILES now offers the Tesla Model 3 for rent in Berlin, Potsdam, Hamburg and Munich. According to the company, this makes it the first and only car-sharing provider in Germany to have Tesla in its fleet.

MILES is showing its commitment to electromobility by adding Tesla vehicles to its fleet. Prior to this, the company already offered the VW ID.3, but now it has decided to expand. “For MILES, constant electrification of the fleet is out of the question. We are striving to be faster than the nationwide switch to electric motors. For us, it goes without saying that Tesla, as a pioneer in the global electrification of vehicles, should be integrated into the MILES fleet,” says MILES CEO Oliver Mackprang.

New Tesla Model 3s are placed in the Premium category and require the client to meet several conditions before a vehicle can be rented. "There are a few requirements for using MILES' Tesla," notes Mackprang. “We want to make it clear that we do not sell test drives. It's about, like our other vehicles, having a vehicle available when one is needed.”

Model 3 can be rented by customers who are at least 23 years old and have made at least 20 trips with the company in the past. The number of trips has been reduced to 10 for MILES Pass Silver users and to 0 for Platinum users. In addition, the client's driving experience must be at least 1 year.

The Model 3 rental price at MILES is €1.19 per kilometer and a one-time “unlock fee” of €2. Charging is possible at all charging stations that are displayed in the MILES app.
