Tesla Model Y became the best-selling electric vehicle in Taiwan in February. Deliveries of the model began only three months ago. Model Y is shipped to Taiwan from Giga Berlin.
Tesla continues to have a significant impact on the development of Taiwan's automotive market. Thanks to the sales of the company's vehicles, the number of electric vehicles on the country's roads is growing at a rapid pace. Tesla Model Y and Model 3 played a major role in the electric vehicle market in February, ranking high on the sales list shared by @buzzyal/Twitter.
According to sales data for February, Tesla Model Y became the best-selling electric car in the country, with 419 sales. This is almost three times more than the closest competitor, Volvo XC 40 Recharge with 155 sales. In third place is BMW iX with 119 units sold. In fourth place is Tesla Model 3 with 105 sales. Closing out the top 5 is Toyota bZ4X with 80 registered units.

Tesla officially started deliveries of Model Y to Taiwanese consumers on December 5. The wait for Taiwan has been two years and eight months since the vehicle was first delivered in March 2020 in the USA. The start of deliveries was not possible from Giga Shanghai, as tensions with China led to a ban on the sale of cars that are made there. The start of deliveries from the USA was inexpedient. Therefore, Model Y arrived in Taiwan only after Tesla's German factory, Gigafactory Berlin, was able to reach a high enough production capacity to start serving the interests of a wider market.
