Tesla Model Y was the fourth best-selling car in Germany in August thanks to production at Giga Berlin. As production increases, the car has every chance of becoming the best-selling car in the country.

After a lull for several months, due to the shutdown of production at Giga Shanghai in spring and its modernization in summer, Tesla is once again showing excellent results. In August, in many countries around the world, Tesla cars reached a high position in the automotive market, taking top places and making the strongest competition for gasoline burners. The past month in Germany was also a successful one for Tesla, with the company achieving a strong result.

Tesla's Model Y was the fourth best-selling car in August, in the country that is home to its first European factory. Thousands of consumers have opted for an environmentally friendly vehicle over the most popular petrol vehicles produced by local automakers.

According to KBA (h/t @TAktionare/Twitter), Tesla sold an impressive 4,216 Model Ys in August, earning it a respectable fourth place in the country's auto market. This is made possible by the fact that Giga Berlin continues to increase production, and it is clear that a big part of the deliveries now take place in Germany, which is a smart move.

Model Y was behind three cars from Volkswagen, all of which are with internal combustion engines. In first place is VW T-ROC with 6,490 units sold, in second place is VW GOLF with 6,066 units sold, and in third place is VW TIGUAN with 4,408 units sold. Closing out the top 5 is Opel Corsa with 4,125 registrations.

Giga Berlin continues to ramp up production, aiming to reach 5,000 units per week by the end of 2022. This means that the demand for Model Y in Germany can be met to a large extent. It also means that in the near future we will see Model Y become the best-selling car in Germany.
