• Tesla Model Y became the best-selling car in a single year in the history of Denmark.
• The electric SUV has already dethroned the previous leader, Volkswagen UP!, although there are still more than two months left until the end of the year.

Tesla Model Y achieved a new victory in Denmark. According to the observations of some enthusiasts, the electric SUV has become the best-selling car in a single year in the country in history. @FonsDK/X reported that Model Y has overthrown the previous leader, Volkswagen UP!, which held the record for the last 10 years. The German car took the leading position in 2013, but could not compete with the stunning Model Y.

The fact that the record was set in October deserves special attention. This means that by the end of the year, Tesla will significantly increase the number of Model Ys on Danish roads. Over another two months, thousands of electric SUVs could be delivered, which could ensure its leadership for years to come. Given the fact that Danish residents are actively switching to electric vehicles, Model Y is expected to strengthen its position in the coming years.

Throughout 2023, Model Y has become the country's best-selling car several times, leaving gas-powered cars behind. The electric SUV is the best-selling car in Denmark this year. Model Y had its best month in September, selling 2,389 units, outselling the next five closest competitors combined.

Thanks to dynamically updated data on EU-EVs, it became known that as of October 25, 13,091 Model Ys were sold in Denmark this year. This already exceeds 12,940 VW UP! units which were registered 10 years ago in 2013. Also worthy of special attention is the fact that Model Y is about four times more expensive than the VW UP! cost in 2013. Obviously, the electric SUV is so attractive that consumers are willing to pay a high price for it.

Tesla Model Y is very popular in Europe. In the first eight months of this year, it was the best-selling car of any type in Europe. In the first seven months of 2023, it was the best-selling car in the world. It is expected that for all months of this year, Model Y will become the best-selling car both in Europe and in the world.
