Tesla Model Y has been awarded Safest Car of 2023 by What Car?. It was an obvious choice after the car achieved the highest overall safety score in testing by the Euro NCAP.

Tesla Model Y was awarded the title of the safest car in 2023 according to What Car? For this award, the magazine's judges considered both active and passive safety, as well as the purchase price, because a model that is sold in high numbers will have a greater impact on road safety. Out of more than 100 models tested, Tesla Model Y has been the highest-rated vehicle in Euro NCAP testing since 2020, when the latest testing criteria were introduced. The car scored 364 out of 400 points, more than 10 points ahead of other top-performing models such as Smart #1 and Mercedes EQE.

Tesla Model Y is the safest vehicle for adult occupants, scoring almost 100% in this area, and its Safety Assistance rating, demonstrating how well its active safety systems work, is also the highest ever achieved at 98%. It has proven itself so well as a safety aid thanks to its automatic emergency braking (AEB) and high-speed adaptive cruise control, which can detect other vehicles and road users in advance and react quickly to avoid collisions.

In addition, Model Y safety systems, like in other Tesla vehicles, are constantly being improved because when the company notices potential improvements, it releases over-the-air updates that add the latest active safety software to all of its vehicles on the road.
