Tesla unexpectedly begins delivery of Giga Berlin-made Model Y in Quicksilver. Although extensive deliveries to customers are not reported, at least one employee of the company has already received his electric SUV in the new and unique color.

Tesla has officially started delivery of the Giga Berlin-made Model Y in the new Quicksilver paint color. Team Lead Quality Engineering at Tesla, Thibault Girost, announced the great news on his LinkedIn account, @Gf4Tesla/Twitter noticed. On a LinkedIn post, the employee shared a photo taking delivery, and updated his profile photo to a selfie with the beauty he named Sancerre. Girost said that the car was a wonderful Christmas present for him. He is also celebrating two years working for Tesla on its front lines at Giga Berlin. Delivery was received right at the factory, where the company set up a pop-up delivery center.

In October, Tesla unveiled two new colors for the Gigafactory Berlin-made Model Y. These are luxurious Quicksilver and Midnight Cherry Red. Midnight Cherry Red has a striking depth that changes with the light to accentuate Model Y's graceful curves. The dynamic Quicksilver color with liquid metal effect gives the car an elegant look.

In early October, vehicles in Quicksilver were on display at Tesla stores across Europe, but no deliveries were expected. When ordering, customers were informed that the earliest deliveries would only take place in February 2023. That is why the first delivery of Model Y in Quicksilver is a big and pleasant surprise. It is unknown at this time how many more deliveries are planned, but Tesla often delivers new products to some of its employees first, before rolling them out to the wider market.

The Quicksilver color is made possible by the Giga Berlin paint shop, which has a unique layout and was specifically designed and built to implement Tesla's new colors. During the painting process, up to 13 layers of paint are applied to the car, which gives the surface a unique depth and excellent appearance. Highly pigmented metallic paints provide a special sheen effect that enhances the design of Model Y, allowing colors to change depending on the vehicle's angle and lighting.
