Tesla cars are helping companies attract customers again. 15 Tesla Model Ys were added to the Brightline private intercity rail route in Florida. Now Brightline's clients can get home from the railway station in a Model Y.
Brightline, a privately run inter-city rail route between Miami and West Palm Beach, Florida, recently added Tesla Model Y vehicles to its fleet. 15 vehicles from the Texas-based manufacturer will join other electric shuttles as part of the Brightline+ program. The new door-to-door rideshare service is designed to make travel for the company's customers even more convenient.
"As the most significant enhancement made to Brightline since its inception, the service enables passengers to leverage an upgraded Brightline mobile app to plan, book and pay for their entire journey across a variety of eco-friendly transport modes, leading to a lower environmental impact. These vehicles currently include Brightline + 's fleet of Tesla cars, shared electric vans, and Circuit neighborhood electric vehicles (fully electric shared shuttles) which will complete trips within a five mile radius of the Brightline stations."
Starting in November this year, Brightline train passengers can order additional transport after arriving at the train station at the end of their journey. At their choice, they can use the shuttle service or Model Y, which will take them to their doorstep. Sharing rides will be free until the end of this year, while private rides will cost $10. Tesla Model Ys will only be used for private travel.
