On Saturday, August 27, the United States Air Force (USAF) F-22 Demonstration and Heritage Flight Team (also known as the F-22 Raptor Demo Team) flew over SpaceX's Starbase facility in South Texas. Multiple Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor aircraft did an airshow at South Padre Island and also conducted a flyby above Starships at Boca Chica Beach as part of the ‘Roar by the Shore Air and Space Expo’ event. “It was great to rocket past SpaceX,” said team representatives via Twitter.

The F-22 Raptor Demo Team performs airshows all around the world that demonstrate a variety of amazing aircraft maneuvers designed for combat operations. They performed two airshows, the first took place on August 27. The second on August 28 and it included Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation’s P-51 Mustang aircraft which soared near a trio of Starships at the rocket factory, pictured below.

The team was joined by SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn leader Jared Isaacman who made history as commander of the Inspiration4 mission which became SpaceX’s first-ever all-civilian Crew Dragon flight to orbit the Earth. Now, Isaacman is training to fly aboard two more Dragon flights to outer space and launch aboard Starship to test new technologies as part of the Polaris Dawn program. “It was so great flying an airshow again.. and especially ‘Roar by the Shore’ right next to Starbase,” said Isaacman, “Loved hanging out with the Polaris Program team and meeting so many aviation & space enthusiasts. Really appreciative of the maintenance team - it was a busy weekend!” he shared via Twitter.
