Tesla improved its infotainment offerings for its Arcade and Theater with Fallout Shelter and new Theater Mode controls with its OTA 2020.20 software update.

Tesla Arcade's new addition is a good follow-up to Cuphead, another popular video game that was rolled out to the electric car maker's vehicles. Fallout Shelter from Bethesda is the free-to-play installment of the popular video game series Fallout.

According to Tesla's Release Notes, "Fallout Shelter puts you in control of a state-of-the-art underground Vault from Vault-Tec. Build the perfect Vault, keep your Dwellers happy, and protect them from the dangers of the Wasteland. To play Fallout Shelter, tap Entertainment from the Application Launcher, then Arcade>Fallout Shelter."

The Fallout series takes place in a post-apocalyptic world and features post-war culture inspired by the 1950s in the United States. It is a role-playing game set in the 22nd or 23rd century. Fallout Shelter was announced in Bethesda's press conference during E3 2015 on June 14. After the event, the game was released in the iOS App store. Later that summer during QuakeCon, Fallout Shelter was released for Android devices.

Besides Fallout Shelter, Tesla also introduced improvements to its infotainment's Theater Mode. Now, passengers can control the video they are watching while on Theater Mode with the controls on the steering wheel.

"With this release, you can now play, pause, and skip video playback with your steering wheel controls while using Theater Mode. As usual, Theater Mode is only available while your vehicle is in PARK."

Tesla's 2020.20 software update also made some improvements to TRAX. "We have added a piano roll view that allows you to edit and fine-tune notes in a track. You can now tap in view to create a note, move or resize it by dragging the tail end of the note, and delete it with a long press. To play a note sound, simply hold and move the notes," described the release noes. "In addition, when you tap the record button, a metronome beat will play to make it easier for you to record at the desired time."

Tesla's OTA 2020.20 software update was the latest version released by the company. Several OTA updates have been released since the beginning of the year. The free updates hint that Tesla has started to ramp software improvements in its cars. Meanwhile, competitors are still trying to create an OS competitive enough against Tesla's infotainment.
