Tesla continues to hire employees at Giga New York, exceeding its obligations to the state. At the end of 2022, more than 1,700 employees worked there, instead of the required 1,460.

Tesla added more than 100 jobs at its Buffalo factory last year. In a report to the state, the company said the factory had 1,734 full-time employees and 107 part-time employees as of the end of 2022. This far exceeds the 1,460 jobs the state required from the company. If the manufacturer had not fulfilled its obligations, it would have been fined by the state $41.2 million.

Tesla said in a report that it continues to hire employees and planned to add 130 more by the end of January. “This past year has been another excellent year for Tesla in Buffalo and throughout New York state,” said Jeff Munson, the treasurer for the Tesla affiliate that operates the Buffalo plant, according to Buffalo News.

At the moment, the factory's operations are focused on the production of Solar Roof, Supercharger piles, electronic components for electric vehicles, and inverters for Megapacks, which guarantees jobs for a wide range of people without a university degree. In addition, there are hundreds of specialists involved in the development of autonomous driving.
