German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, along with Elon Musk, will officially open Giga Berlin next week. The American company’s factory is an important project, so its opening is of great interest to German politicians.
The opening of Tesla Giga Berlin is a great and long-awaited event for the company and its supporters, as well as for the whole of Germany. This means that the world leader in the production of electric vehicles will now also work in the heart of the European automotive industry, and its electric vehicles, assembled in Germany by local workers, will penetrate all of Europe. For the country, this is a big victory, both in terms of the economy and in terms of innovation in the field of electromobility, which comes with Tesla.
The official opening of Giga Berlin, as well as the grand handover of the first German-made Model Ys, will take place on March 22. According to the schedule, this will be an interesting event full of various activities. Elon Musk is expected to join the ceremony. Although the company has not confirmed this 100%, such an event traditionally occurs with the participation of Tesla's CEO. During the event, there will be a meeting with people who were directly involved in the Giga Berlin approval process.
It is reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will join the celebration. Deputy government spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmann announced on Friday in Berlin that the Chancellor would visit Giga Berlin on Tuesday afternoon. However, she made a clarification that due to the war in Ukraine, some changes may be made.
According to the Federal Ministry of Economics, Minister Robert Habeck (The Greens) also wants to take part in the opening. In addition, Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) is expected from the government of Brandenburg.
