Tesla Giga Shanghai has resumed operations after a two-day stoppage. The factory works in two shifts, that is, around the clock, sources say.

Tesla's Shanghai factory was closed for two days on March 16 and 17, due to the worsening COVID-19 situation in China. The country has tightened measures to contain the new, largest outbreak of the disease in the past two years, so it has applied new measures.

Tesla said Thursday it will actively cooperate with the local government's pandemic prevention requirements, including a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for employees. At the same time, the company pledged to do everything possible to protect production and overcome difficulties together, the company said. Tesla has repeatedly shown its full willingness to cooperate with the government and put in place appropriate safety measures at its factory to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

On Friday, it was reported that Tesla had resumed production at Giga Shanghai after a two-day stoppage, Reuters said, based on information from sources. The Shanghai factory has resumed production in two shifts from 7:00 am local time (11:00 pm GMT) to operate around the clock. A sufficient number of workers returned to work after they tested negative for COVID-19.
