Based on the latest China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) report, Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai produced 22,929 units of the China-made Model 3 in October 2020.
As we reported on September 30, Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai will Increase to 3 Shifts After Chinese National Holiday. Now we are seeing the clear effect of this production ramp: 22,929 units were produced in October, equaling a 5,177 unit weekly production rate. With the sequential increase of this production rate, we can foresee 300K units of the MIC Model 3 in 2021.
On November 8, Tesmanian reported Tesla Giga Shanghai Plans to Produce 550K Units in 2021. As we reported in the article: "According to several industry insiders, Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai plans to produce about 550,000 EVs in 2021, including 300,000 Model 3s and 250,000 Model Ys."
Based on the current Tesla Giga Shanghai production rate (October), the annual production rate is now at around 270,000 units.
Update: With our latest source update, the current Model 3 production has now surpassed 5700 units per week, which is just a hair under 300,000 yearly units.
