Tesla Giga Berlin has received preliminary approval to install more chimneys and conduct extensive on-site testing of machines, assemblies, and processes. This effectively allows the final stages of customization to be prepared to start production as soon as the final environmental building permit is obtained.

On October 8, Tesla received another preliminary approval for the construction of Giga Berlin, which includes activities for the construction and installation of technical equipment, system technology, and chimneys for buildings.

In addition, it allows system testing of relevant systems, machines, and assemblies, as well as extended tests for the body shop. The approval allows the operation of temporary auxiliary systems and assemblies for system testing of working units of the press shop, body shop, seat fabrication, and final assembly. It also allows the installation and use of a temporary storage space for hazardous materials, as well as the erection and use of another tent for storing spare parts for machinery and equipment.

The new permit gives Tesla greater authority in testing equipment and technical systems, which could significantly shorten the time to start production once the final environmental building permit is issued. According to the latest information, this could take place in November, although the government has not given any exact dates. At the moment, public discussions are underway, where opponents of the project have the opportunity to discuss their objections.
