Tesla forms the EV market in Spain in September with a 28.8% share. Model 3 and Model Y became the best-selling electric vehicles, making formidable competition to other manufacturers.
In September 2022, EV sales in Spain reached 3,829 units. The volume of registered cars compared to the same period last year showed an increase of 21.09%. The Tesla brand regained its lead after a slowdown caused by a production shutdown in April and an upgrade in July/August of its Giga Shanghai. In September, it became clear that when it comes to the Spaniards' favorite electric cars, the answer is obvious: they prefer Tesla vehicles.
Given that Tesla only sells two models, its dominance in the Spanish market is even more admirable, with the brand holding a 28.8% share of the EV market. Even Stellantis, which includes 14 brands, is in second place with a market share of 21.8%. Obviously, it is Tesla that forms and makes the main contribution to the development of the EV market in the country.
Tesla Model 3 took another victory and became the best-selling electric car in Spain in September with 715 units, standing out from other models. Tesla Model Y came in second with 337 sales. Fiat 500E came in third with 329 units sold. Fourth place belongs to Dacia Spring with 135 registrations. Closing out the top 5 is Volvo XC40 with 134 units sold.
