On December 7, Tesla officially entered the Thai market. Local publications report that orders for 4,242 Model 3s and Model Ys were accepted in the first 24 hours.

On December 7, Tesla was officially launched in Thailand along with the opening of the first store in the country. Yvonne Chan, director of Tesla in Taiwan and South Korea, personally arrived in the country to celebrate this momentous occasion and congratulate local customers. The company held an event and announced the opening of orders for its vehicles. This was incredibly great news, as the Thai have been choosing Tesla cars for a long time, but were forced to buy them not directly from the company, but from local resellers.

The love of the local market for Tesla cars speaks for itself. Local publications reported that in less than 24 hours of the first day of sales, 4,135 customers placed orders for the Model 3 and Model Y, which were introduced in Thailand. Some other publications reported that 4,242 orders were received in the full first day, and the number of orders in 48 hours exceeded 5,000, although the exact number was not given. Obviously, the speed for this quantity of orders is impressive.

The first batch of 1,500 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles will arrive in early 2023 from China. The next batch will arrive in the country no later than the middle of next year. In addition to the store opening, which has already taken place, Tesla will open a service center and Superchargers in Thailand in the first quarter of 2023, before the first vehicles will be handed over to customers.
